Anogi's church

Anogi's church, which is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin, was built in the 12th century.

Magnificent religious paintings and a wonderful icon-screen, painted by Ioannis Agrafiotis, adorn the place.

Multiple layers of religious paintings witness that the church was pulled down and rebuilt some time in the past.

Next to the church, there is a venetian-style campanile built in 1682. Part of it was destroyed in the 1953 earthquakes.
