Vathi's Archaeological
Museum
One of the island's archaeological museums is in Vathi. Among the exhibits the visitor will see finds of the Mycenean and Corinthian period of the island excavated in the southern Ithaki, in Aetos and in other areas. Moreover there are geometrical pots, small household items and coins.
Stavros' Archaeological Museum Stavros' museum, which is located near Pilikata, houses finds from the area nearby. The exhibits include a female mask made of clay on which the words ''ΕΥΧΗΝ ΟΔΥΣΣΕΙ'', (ODYSSES' BLESSING) are carved, a statuette depicting Ulysses tied on a ship mast so that he resists the Sirens' seductive song and other important items from the excavations that have taken place on the island from time to time. |

It is housed in the renovated traditional
building of the Public Electricity Company and the visitor can admire among others a
remarkable collection of traditional naval equipment, old musical instruments, old local
traditional clothes and numerous household items; in a few words a great collection of the
island's local tradition. |
