MONASTERY OF THEOTOKOS, ATROS

  It is the oldest monastery of Cephalonia. It is located 760 m above sea level. It was built around the 8th century. The Middle aged tower and the oldest Archondariki are preserved.

   In the monastery monk Klimis was leading a monastic life. Unfortunately, the monasteryhas had serious damages in 1953 from earthquake and later from fire.
