According to tradition,a shepherd was feeding his sheeps in the place where the convent is now built.The ram was moving away from the flock and was going to a water foundain that is below a fig tree at the place where the church was before the earthquake.  
    One day the shepherd followed the ram and found on the fig tree an icon of the Virgin which also carried to his house. However, the icon kept on returning to the place where the shepherd had found it. After announcing this miracle publicly a church was built at that place. It operates as a nunnery.
